MX record checker
List the mail servers that receive email for a domain, in priority order, and check that each one has an address.
What this checks
Whether the domain exists, which mail servers its MX records name and in what order, and whether each server resolves to an IP address. A null MX (0 .) means the domain says on purpose that it doesn't accept email.
MX and toSend
Before sending, toSend checks that each recipient's domain exists, and skips the ones that don't, which protects your sending reputation. The MX record toSend asks you to add goes on send.yourdomain.com and receives bounce reports. It doesn't change where your normal email is delivered.
Questions
What does the priority number mean?
Senders try the lowest number first and fall back to higher numbers if it doesn't answer. Servers with the same number share the load.
Will adding toSend's MX record break my inbox?
No. It's on the send subdomain, not your main domain, so mail to you@yourdomain.com keeps going to your current mail servers.
My domain has no MX records. Can it still receive email?
Technically some senders fall back to the domain's A record, but many treat a domain without MX records as unable to receive email. Add MX records for your mail provider.
