DMARC record generator
Choose a policy and where reports should go, and copy a valid DMARC record to add to your DNS.
_dmarcv=DMARC1; p=none;Add a reporting address. Without it, nobody receives reports about mail that fails.
Where to publish it
Add the record as a TXT record named _dmarc on your domain (shown as _dmarc.yourdomain.com). A domain can have only one DMARC record, so edit the existing one if there is one. Check the result with the DMARC checker, which also suggests your next step.
A safe rollout
Start with Monitor and a reporting address. Read the reports for a couple of weeks until every service that sends for you passes, including toSend. Then move to Quarantine, and finally Reject.
Questions
What address should receive reports?
Any mailbox you can read, or a DMARC reporting service. Reports arrive as zipped XML files once a day from each mailbox provider, so a dedicated address is easier to manage.
Should I use strict alignment?
Usually not. Relaxed alignment lets mail signed or bounced from a subdomain count for your main domain, which is how most email services, toSend included, work.
What does the subdomain policy do?
It sets a different policy for mail from subdomains such as news.yourdomain.com. Leave it unset to use the main policy for them too.
