A smaller, simpler alternative to SendGrid.
SendGrid is a large platform with marketing tools, templates and deep analytics. If you only need your site and app emails delivered, and to find one when a customer asks, toSend does that for less.
What you'd pay each month
SendGrid's cheapest paid plan covers 50,000 emails, so at 10,000 you pay for 50,000. Near 100,000 the prices are close. toSend charges for the emails you actually send.
| Emails a month | toSend | SendGrid |

| 100,000 | $30 | $34.95 Essentials, 100K |

- You need templates, tracking, inbound parsing or marketing campaigns in the same tool.
- You send close to 100,000 a month and want those features for about the same price.
- You need webhooks for every event, with retries.
- You need a dedicated IP included in the plan.
Switching from SendGrid
You don't have to move everything at once. toSend runs alongside SendGrid, so you can move one site or app first and keep the rest where they are.
Full migration guide: field map, SMTP settings and webhook events
- Create a toSend account and add your domain. Our DNS records use their own names (
tosend._domainkeyandsend), so they sit alongside your SendGrid records and nothing stops working while you test. - Wait for the domain to verify. We check every 10 minutes and activate it as soon as the records are visible. On Cloudflare, one click adds them.
- Point one site or app at toSend: choose toSend in FluentSMTP on WordPress, change the SMTP host and password, or swap the API call for one of our SDKs.
- Send a test and find it in your toSend logs. When you're happy, move the next site. Keep your SendGrid account until the last one has moved.
